SMART Board Native Built in Wireless Screen Share Solution
The SMART MX series panel includes a built-in wireless screen sharing facility that allows native sharing of content from Windows, Apple and Chrome devices without requiring a proprietary application to be installed on the SMART Learning Display or the student device.
iOS & MacOS (Airplay)
The SMART Board built-in screen share facility receives wireless content from any Apple device – phone, tablet or Mac Laptop via the native Airplay protocol without installing a proprietary application.
Windows 10 (Miracast)
The SMART Board built-in screen share facility receives wireless content from Windows devices via the native Miracast protocol without installing a proprietary application. SMART Boards also provide Miracast Touchback. This allows users to control a Windows 10 computer connected via Miracast by touching the screen of the display while screen sharing, for example, to drive a lesson or presentation.
Chromebook (Chromecast)
The SMART Board built-in screen share facility receives wireless content from any Chromebook via the native Chromecast protocol without installing a proprietary application.
General Overview
When sharing screens to the SMART Board display with iQ, you can share up to 4 devices to the display. When you do this, the Screen Share lobby appears with thumbnails of each shared device’s screen. From the lobby, you can tap a shared device’s thumbnail to view it at full screen.
When sharing devices at the display, you can also enable permissions for connecting. This allows the person as the SMART Board display to control which devices attempting to connect to the display are allowed to connect and display content.
Inking over content
The SMART MX series panel allows the user to select a pen and annotate over any wirelessly shared content. The content and annotation can then be saved to the file library for export. The annotation facility is built into the panel and does not require any additional proprietary application.
